Membership – Friends of the Women’s Environmental Institute

Thank you for your interest in WEI. Members make up over half of WEI’s individual contributors a year! Your membership commitment to WEI’s environmental justice mission through food, agricultural, racial and gender justice strategies in urban and rural communities is powerful and appreciated.

WEI currently offers two different kinds of memberships: Individual/Student and Organizational. Read more about each membership below:

INDIVIDUAL/STUDENT MEMBERSHIP

You can become a Friend of the Women’s Environmental Institute for $96 when purchased in one annual payment, or $10/month ($120/year) in 12 monthly payments. Student memberships are $48/year. Benefits of membership include:

  1. 10% discount on CSA orders.
  2. 10% discount on WEI’s in-person educational classes (excluding fundraising events).
  3. 10% discount on an overnight stay at the WEI FarmStay through Airbnb**
  4. WEI’s end-of-year Annual Report (hard copy available upon request).
  5. A quarterly Membership Newsletter, highlighting special events, opportunities, and upcoming ways to use your benefits!
  6. A personalized membership card mailed to you.

*When you register or renew your annual membership, you will receive your discount code in your email inbox to use when registering online for a class or purchasing CSA shares, good for one year. Once you enter the discount code on the payment page, your total purchase for these items will be adjusted to include this discount.

**When reserving an overnight AirBnb FarmStay, please make a note of your WEI member status in your reservation request.

Member discounts and privileges are active for one year. Please contact wei@w-e-i.org if you don’t know your discount code or with any other questions about memberships.

ORGANIZATIONAL MEMBERSHIP

Annual Organizational Memberships are available to non-profit, for-profit, academic, and governmental organizations for $250/year. This membership is a way to invest in WEI’s mission-driven work in a meaningful way and spark collaboration.

You and your organization are entitled to one full day on WEI’s Amador Hill campus, farm, and orchard for a group meeting or staff retreat. The amenities are the same as our FarmStay, however, this is not an overnight stay. You are able to use the bedrooms for breakouts or workspaces during your organization’s stay.

Tax deduction does not apply to this kind of membership. Call us at 651-583-0705 to learn more about and set up an Organizational Membership.

Benefits of Organizational Memberships include*:

  1. A 1-day retreat at WEI’s FarmStay for you and your team (attendance limitation is dependent on season, approx. 15 people max). Amenities include outdoor spaces such as the orchard/farm and picnic benches. Shared indoor spaces include a spacious living room with fireplace, seating, multiple bathrooms, full kitchen, office/breakout space, wifi, natural trails for walking, gardens, and our geodesic Turtle Dome classroom**. Inquire about overnight capacity.
  2. An annual meet-and-greet with WEI staff and/or Board of Directors to discuss partnership opportunities, if desired.
  3. Promotion of your organization’s or business’s announcements in our weekly newsletter publication (mission-aligned and at the approval of the communications manager).
  4. Recognition on the WEI website and in our Annual Report as an Organizational Member.
  5. A hard copy of WEI’s end-of-year Annual Report mailed to your organization.

*The two types of membership, Individual/Student and Organizational, can be purchased separately to take advantage of all benefits.
