In honor of Karen Clark and WEI’s enduring partnership with Will Allen, WEI plans to present the 16th Annual Will Allen Farmer Training Weekend sometime in spring, 2027.

This is a unique, two-day event. Programming will be announced as it is confirmed, but we expect a similar structure as in the past, with a full day of Saturday workshops and panels, and Sunday composting with Farmer Will Allen.

Sunday’s workshop (subject to change as event planning progresses) is devoted to composting taught by Will Allen. The workshop will demonstrate hands-on use of urban-friendly compost bin and a larger compost winrow, using a scientifically balanced approach to creating nutrient-rich garden beds. These methods transform urban “waste” into rich, healthy soil for producing fresh, nutritious food for our communities. Learn more about Will’s composting methodology in this video.
