This is a list of wishes which we give to the universe in hopes that someone or some organization/agency/company might want to support the work of our mission through designated gifts or donations. All donations are tax deductible and anything large or small would be helpful.
Staff Needs:
• funding to hire an Administrative Associate Director $40,000/ annum
• funding to support an Events and Communication Director $25,000/annum
• funding to pay move part-time staff to a full time office staff postion -- an additional $25,000/annum
EcoRetreat Center WEI needs the following appliances replaced by new or high functioning used: washing machine, dryer, dishwasher and a new fire alarm and lock system.
Travel Scholarships and Travel Van WEI needs funding to help low-income city residents travel to WEI at .55 cent per mile/4 person per car minimum. We would like to able to offer to pay mileage (generally $60 from the Twin Cities to WEI and back) or $20 for gas. This would help bring people to WEI on-site event An old van for up to 12 people would also be useful in transporting visitors to WEI.
Land and Farm Equipment/Deer Fencing
WEI would be very happy to accept local land donations from farmers and farm families. We will honor your land by not selling it for development and will nurture the soil to enhance its organic matter and vital nutrients and minerals. The land would be used to continue developing our organic and sustainability farming projects and for farm education.We can work with you to determine the tax deduction you should receive for such a generous gift.
WEI needs good used farm equipment and supplies.. We would love to have donations, including but not limited to, tractors, water-wheel planters, weeders of all kinds, weed whackers, farm hand tools of all kinds, wagons of all kinds, hay wagons, mowers, an old truck for hauling and a forklift; irrigation equipment, deer fencing wire and posts, and greenhouse materails and supplies.
WEI tries to meet these costs and expenses for our staff and projects through our General Operation funds which come from contributions, event and educaation income and grants. Project grants generally fund the projects well but leave only a small margin for the operational funds needed to keep our facility and staff sufficiently funded.
