THE AMADOR-SUNRISE LAND REGISTRY: A community of conservation-minded landowners

Who may participate?
The Registry serves residents who own property in Amador and Sunrise Townships of Chisago County, MN.

What are the obligations of joining the Registry?
Members make a pledge to manage their property in a manner consistent with the stated ideals of the Registry. This pledge is non-binding, and does not carry any legal obligation. There is no cost to join.

What are the benefits of joining the Registry?

Invitation to quarterly gatherings
Members gain knowledge and practical skills at gatherings focused on conservation topics tailored to the local region, with featured guest speakers, demonstrations, and opportunities to participate in hands-on activities in the outdoors.

Personalized ecological services
Interested members can discover more about their land’s unique natural features and get ideas for conservation strategies appropriate to their setting by requesting a free “Ecologist
Walk-about” or more extensive Base-line Ecological Inventory of their property (available on a cost-share basis).

Certificate of Participation
Registry members receive a certificate of participation suitable for framing.

Program discounts at WEI
Registry members are eligible for discounts on tuition for the Organic Farm School and selected other programs of the Women’s Environmental Institute and partner organizations.


Information resources and referral

Program staff are available on an ongoing basis to answer questions regarding land protection options, and will work to identify funding sources to assist members who wish to undertake restoration/management activities on their land.
